Too Early For Grub Control? Nope.

Grubs are the larvae of Japanese Beetles that feed on the root system of lawns in late summer. But to control them, the insecticide has to be applied in May-June time frame to be effective. This is because of how it works. The insecticide must be taken up by the grass plant fully so when the grubs ingest it, they die. This will keep them from growing fat on the tasty roots of your lawn.
So if you think you have a grub issue, or have had grubs in the past, you better get your application down very soon.
